The Pink Chanel Handbag of My Dreams
This is THE bag that began my love affair with Chanel. I was a just a teenager who was discovering a lot of things for the very first time in my life: Project Runway had just debuted and I learned what Parsons was and that I could actually go to school for fashion design one day. I became inspired by an embellished blazer look in Teen Vogue that was too expensive, so my Mom took me to an antique mall I’d been to a hundred times before (but never enjoyed) to pick out a few vintage rhinestone brooches to re-create the look and I realized that I loved hunting for vintage jewelry. I also began altering and re-designing my clothes with my Mom’s old sewing machine which eventually led to me buying old patterns and fabric from the 1960s. And of course, I fell in love with Chanel after spotting a woman wearing this exact bag. I became fascinated with Coco’s history as a designer, buying up every book I came across and making Chanel collages from magazine editorials and runway snaps. Nearly twenty years later and I couldn’t be happier buying vintage Chanel accessories for a living.

Alfred's Tea Room
One last stop at Alfred’s on our way out of town. Side note: Blush and chartreuse is my all time favorite color combo. My senior thesis collection when I attended Parsons was comprised of this very color palette and I’m still not tired of it.
