Packing for Paris

I have been looking forward to my upcoming trip to Paris for months now, I am eager to start packing! France will always have a special place in my heart... it is where my parents got married and it is now the home of my best friend and former college roommate (who I have not seen in 2+ years!!). I am looking forward to sharing my favorite sights, sips and scenes with you, in the mean time you can follow along with my Instagram

The Best Dessert Spots in Soho

I am so happy to share my go-to dessert spots around Soho with everyone! This Manhattan neighborhood is a favorite of mine, full of yummy treats. Ladurรฉe, a Parisian classic, has a pastry shop in Soho. The best part is their outdoor patio seating, the perfect setting for a macaron filled brunch! Chobani, the greek yogurt company, has a little restaurant in Soho where you can grab delightful yogurt parfait combinations- also a great spot to get ideas to make at home. The Nรฉspresso coffee shop also serves the most delicious drinks and treats, my favorite is the coffee ice cream float topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Van Leeuwen, the artisan ice cream truck, can be spotted around Soho serving some of the creamiest scoops (check twitter for daily locations). For this Soho sweets tour I teamed up with Caravelle New York, I am wearing an adorable watch with a pink face and a sophisticated gold watch.

Oahu Hawaii Travel Guide

This was my second trip to Oahu, and I wanted to share a few of my favorite things to do on the beautiful Hawaiian island. A couple touristy ideas and a few local spots to check off your list if you ever decide to visit!

Waikiki

Even if you aren't staying at this hotel, you have to make a point to stop by The Royal Hawaiian for drinks, you will be surrounded by beach views and hundreds of pink umbrellas... Lookout for tomorrow's post where I will be sharing more photos from my visit to the Royal Hawaiian. Right next to this destination is another classic hotel, actually the very first one in Hawaii. The Moana Hotel is extremely charming, you really feel transported back in time while visiting. I love walking around the hotel's personal museum collection of old photographs and artifacts, you can find this area right by the entrance and up the main staircase. Afterwards you might like to sip a cocktail or two outside under their iconic banyan tree.

Honolulu

You can't leave the island without trying one of their famous pastry dishes: the malasada. My favorite spot to grab these portugese donuts is the infamous Leonard's Bakery. They always have a special flavor of the day, but I loved the original and the cinnamon sugar ones by far. You can also find other pastries and iced coffee here if you want to pick up a breakfast picnic to take with you!

Kailua

Some of the best local coffee on the island can be found at Kalapawai Market. Since we were staying close by, our early morning ritual was walking along the beach with our iced coffees and lattรฉs from this spot. The surf shop Island Snow doubles as one of the best shaved ice destinations in Oahu, not only is each bite pure powder, but their flavor selection has all the classic Hawaiian fruits. My go-to daily order was a small shaved ice with two scoops of ice cream, wedding cake and lilikoi flavoring with a snow cap on top.

Around town

Be on the lookout for fresh pineapple frozen yogurt from the Dole farm as well as coconut stands!

A New York City Staycation

Last weekend Patrick and I decided to have a little "staycation" vacation in Manhattan, so we checked into Hotel Americano. Changing neighborhoods for the weekend really can feel like a little getaway, I loved exploring Chelsea and the Meatpacking District as if it was my new home. Each morning we spent relaxing poolside with our books and coffees, I would recommend making a lunchtime reservation at La Piscine for some bites and drinks by the pool. The hotel also has bike rentals, which we took full advantage of for an afternoon ride along the water. On our return trip up the bike trail we stopped by the Gansevoort Market for dinner and gelato.
