The Royal Hawaiian resort hotel is the most beautiful pink pastel building, even though I have never stayed with them I always make a point to visit the grounds and stop by for a drink at their bar. I also love walking around to look at old photos and window shop their little boutiques.
From Sunrise to Sunset
My favorite thing to do in Hawaii is stay jet-lagged, this way I can wake up with the sun every morning at 6:30am to pick up my iced latte from the local deli and walk along the beach. Sunsets in paradise are few and far between for me so I try to savor them every chance I get.
A New York City Staycation
Last weekend Patrick and I decided to have a little "staycation" vacation in Manhattan, so we checked into Hotel Americano. Changing neighborhoods for the weekend really can feel like a little getaway, I loved exploring Chelsea and the Meatpacking District as if it was my new home. Each morning we spent relaxing poolside with our books and coffees, I would recommend making a lunchtime reservation at La Piscine for some bites and drinks by the pool. The hotel also has bike rentals, which we took full advantage of for an afternoon ride along the water. On our return trip up the bike trail we stopped by the Gansevoort Market for dinner and gelato.
Silk Bandana Scarf
All white with a red bandana. I always love a good neck scarf, but for some reason I never had any desire to jump on the bandana train. That is until I saw this little red bandana handkerchief in silk- it suddenly seemed so much more luxurious and I had to have it. I only wish I could find it in more colors.
The Washington Mews
By far one of my favorite spots in all of Manhattan is the quaint cobblestone block called the Washington Mews. Just above Washington Square Park is a little street that can transport you back in time, it is such a peaceful place... isolated from all the storefronts, bars and fast food chains, my little escape from reality.
