Morning at the Met

I visited The Metropolitan Museum a few weeks ago to see the Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology exhibit with my Mother while she was in town for a girl's weekend. We spent the rest of our afternoon wandering the sculpture halls at the Met. Afterwards, we walked over to Bergdorf's for dessert and tea.

Orchids and Insect Brooches

In honor of Spring traditions, I decided to visit the New York Botanical Garden for their annual Orchid show. Last year's visit to the NYBG Orchid Show was so magical, I could not wait to return! It gave me the perfect excuse to wear my vintage insect brooches that I recently picked up from the Brooklyn Flea.

How To Style Vintage Ferragamo Vara Pumps

When I find a style that I love, I seem to buy it up in every color... my Ferragamo Vara Bow pumps are no exception! They are the perfect walking shoe, while still remaining chic with a little heel. A style so classic that it is still being re-designed today in fun new colors and materials. While I love admiring the new designs, I love collecting the vintage pairs even more... there's something about "the hunt" when it comes to finding a vintage item that is much more rewarding for me. I usually come across a few pairs in various colors on eBay, be careful to select the correct width! Vintage Ferragamo shoes can range from narrow (A) to wide (C), I am usually a medium width (B). Visit a few of my past posts where I styled my White Ferragamo Vara Pumps, my Black Ferragamo Vara Pumps and my Pink Ferragamo Vara Pumps also here and here.

White Ferragamo Vara Pumps

There are some classic styles that I have fallen in love with, and this only leads to buying them up in every color. Among my vintage Ferragamo shoe collection, the Vara pumps are my absolute favorite. I recently found these never-worn vintage pumps in white! The little grosgrain bow finished off with gold hardware and the one inch heel is so flattering. Salvatore Ferragamo still makes the Vara style today, I have always lusted after the patent pastel styles and more recently the perforated leather styles.
